Mt Morris Class of 1978

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! How has everyone been? Good I hope. If some of you classmates that live locally have seen the local newspapers, you will see in the sports section that the Hawks have gone undefeated this year and will be playing tomorrow to secure a spot downstate. How wonderful is that when we never thought back in our days that Oregon and Mt Morris would never be more than rivals are now working together for the common goal. I am excited for them and hopefully you are too as they make this quest to be state champions.

If you also saw the newspapers or the news on TV you will know by now that we have elected our first African-American President. This is a real change for America having come from segregation in the past with the like of the KKK to now supporting an individual with change as his driving idea. You have also been part of the economical change and have seen things such as job loss and high gas prices. You may have read in the paper about the job losses at Kable News. Things will be changing in Mt Morris no doubt from what they used to be. We can only wait to see.
In closing, if there is anyone out there that is from the class, send me a quick email. Would love to hear from you.

Our Class Poem

Today's the day we graduate;
To this school we come no more.
This our goal of the past 12 years,
Is what we've been waiting for.

The days were laced with fun and games
Along with our growing up;
We've developed a personality -
We've had to measure up;

Not only on tests and with teachers -
We had to make it with our peers.
And now that struggle is over,
We feel like shedding tears.

We're going to miss the notes and such
We've passed along the halls.
With the diploma comes a sad thought:

Our adolescent years are gone -
Now we must face reality.
